As a violist...
Performing is a very exciting part of a musician's profession, and Matyas believes, it is because the experience of the music is then shared with others and with the whole surrounding world.
Matyas regularly plays a wide range repertoire for solo viola, chamber and orchestral music. He is specializing in historically informed performance of various repertoire from the renessaince era to the early romantic period. He is passionate about discovering deeper layers of musical understanding and intelligent playing, while realizing the ultimate goal of music - the pure expression of the soul.
Currently, Matyas is a Master of Arts student at the Royal Academy of Music, where he studies with Elizabeth Wallfisch. He performs and records regularly with numerous ensembles and orchestras in the UK and across Europe. He graduated from the Royal College of Music (Bachelor of Music, Hons) in 2014, where he studied with Annette Isserlis.
Matyas has been fortunate to perform with wonderful musicians such as Rachel Podger, Margaret Faultless, Ashley Solomon, Anneke Scott, Steven Devine, Matthew Truscott, Patrick Cohen-Akenine, Madeleine Easton, Adrian Butterfield, Andrew Parrott, Milos Valent, Didier Talpain, Sir Roger Norrington, Michael Rosewell.
